FAQs
Would you prefer treatment from a Physical Therapist (PT) who works for a physician or one that owns a private practice? You have the right to choose and we leave it up to you to draw your own conclusions. Here are some facts from three different studies:
Results indicate there were more treatments, and the cost was greater for those patients that attended a physician-owned Physical Therapy practice vs. private physical therapy practice (visits per patient were 39% to 45% higher in physician-owned clinics; and both gross and net revenue per patient were 30% to 40% higher in physician-owned clinics)
Results indicate that licensed and non-licensed Physical Therapy providers spent less time with each patient in physician-owned clinics, and more often, Physical Therapy Assistants were substituted for Physical Therapists.
Results concluded that “Therapists who had treated patients through Direct Access were significantly more likely to believe that Direct Access had benefited them professionally and benefited their patients than were Therapists who had not practiced through Direct Access.”

Please arrive about 10-15 minutes early to complete paperwork and plan to spend an hour with your therapist. Bring your drivers license, insurance card and your referral (if required). Your doctor may also fax the order for therapy. If your injury is due to a work-related accident, it is helpful to provide your claim number and contact person before your first visit.
No. You are allowed to see a physical therapist for 30 days without a referral of a doctor. Many times this saves you time and money. Please contact us and we will gladly help to determine if you need a referral.
We accept most major insurances (please stay tuned for updates on our accepted insurances as we enroll in plans).

Usually about 1 hour. Some patients may require more or less time depending on the condition or complexity.
Please wear comfortable clothes. Work out clothing is generally best. Feel free to change when you arrive. If you are coming for your knee, it is best to wear shorts.
On your first visit, your physical therapist will discuss the recommended frequency and duration of your care.
You will be introduced to your physical therapist who will talk with you about your medical history and perform a physical therapy evaluation. Your therapist will evaluate strength, ranges of motion, general mobility and functional limitations. We will then discuss treatment options and coordinate your plan of care. Treatment will generally start the same day.
